Actress-turned-country singer Lucy Hale has unfortunately been forced to cancel her debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry after contracting the flu.

Hale was honored to be invited to the Opry and was all set to fulfill what she called “a lifelong dream.” But after battling flu symptoms all week, her performance, originally scheduled for Friday night (Feb.21), will need to be rescheduled.

The newcomer’s illness comes in the middle of a promo tour in support of her new single, ‘You Sound Good to Me.’ Until she can recover, Hale will have to take a break from the two-month long trip meeting country radio, getting to know her fans and playing multiple performances all over the U.S.

Hale is best known as an actress in ABC Family’s hit ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ but the Memphis-born beauty says that she has always loved country music, adding that she was “born and bred on country” and citing Shania TwainMartina McBrideFaith Hill and Jo Dee Messina as some of her greatest influences.

While she may not be able to be at the Opry this week, the country songstress is sure to be everywhere else in the coming months. Hale’s debut album ‘Road Between’ is scheduled for release on June 3. The first single debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Country charts.
