What began as an album track on the song writer, Joe South's album, became the song that our KLAW Classic artist was best known for.  Originally recorded by predominately male artists, 'Rose Garden' was a song that Lynn Anderson really wanted to record, however, her husband and producer, Glenn Sutton, cautioned her against it saying it was a 'man's song', because of the line 'I could promise you things like big diamond rings'.  Lynn Anderson recorded it and the rest is history.  I was the No 1 song on this day in 1971, and hit the top of charts internationally as well!
