There is an old coaches saying that tells players to "Play four quarters".  This old motivational cry played out for the Highlanders this past week with cross town rival Eisenhower.

After see-sawing back and forth with scores in the first quarter the Highlanders found themselves down 17-13 at the half.  That score remained until just 46 seconds left to go in the game when quarterback Ricky McCartey threw a jump pass up to Gary McKnight who, under triple coverage by the Eagle defense, out jumped and caught the ball and went untouched into the end-zone for the winning score of 20-17. This ongoing war between these two teams have been very close contests in recent years.  In fact, a 3 point game has decided the winner 7 of the last 10 games. Talk about close games. It was one for the ages that will be remembered and talked about for some time!

It's on to district where the wins and loses really count . After an emotional win, the Highlanders have a short week to prepare for a new opponent of Del City who has moved from 6-A to 5-A this past season. MacArthur will host the game this Thursday night at Cameron stadium for Homecoming. It will not only be an exciting night of festivities with the homecoming court and half time distractions, defending the district crown will be priority one as MacArthur will have to establish themselves as the one to beat from their newcomer.

Here is the touchdown call.
