While country music will always claim her as one of our own, Maren Morris stepped on the stage at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) to specifically show off her pop chops. Her national television debut of "The Middle" with Grey and Zedd was a BBMAs highlight.

Looking downright gorgeous in an all-white outfit, Morris delighted the crowd with the song that has gone and become one of 2018's biggest hits. It's the first time that Morris and crew have performed the song live on television. Of course, Morris’ night at the Billboard Music Awards had already been memorable, as she took a big win for Top Country Female Artist. Morris also received a tribute from show host Kelly Clarkson who sang Morris’ hit "My Church" in a special musical medley at the beginning of the show. Plus, the newlywed Morris enjoyed the show alongside fellow hard-working country singer Ryan Hurd.

Morris wasn’t the only country artist getting some love from the Billboard Music Awards. Early winners included Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan. A few country artists even shimmered and shined on the red carpet before the show started — Brett Young and Walmart Boy Mason Ramsey strutted their stuff down the line, with Young bringing his fiancee.

As for Morris, she will continue to showcase her talents this summer when she heads out on tour with Niall Horan on the Flicker World Tour with dates in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the U.S.
