When you hear Mel Tillis talk, all you think about is the stutter.  But, when you hear Mel Tillis sing, that is a different story all together.  Mel developed the stutter during a bout with Malaria as a child, but it never affected his ability to sing.

With numerous top ten hits on his own, Mel was also an accomplished songwriter. His daughter, Pam has also had a career in country music.  He built his own theater in Branson where he preformed regularly until 2002.

Here's is his 4th number one song from this day in 1978, your KLAW Classic, 'I Believe in You'.
