Mickey Gilley ‘Stand By Me’ KLAW Classic [VIDEO]

When Ben E. King wrote 'Stand By Me', he had no intention of recording it himself. Written for the Drifters, who passed it by, King added it to the end of a recording session to fill some extra time.It went to #1 for King in 1961, and has been recorded in at least 400 different versions.  Today's KLAW Classic was #1 32 years ago today and was included in the Soundtrack for Urban Cowboy.  Here's Mickey Gilley's version of 'Stand By Me'.  Enjoy!
