The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (and Covina, Rancho Cucamonga and the surrounding area) have a centerfielder named Mike Trout who makes heavenly catches on a regular basis. He, alongside rightfielder Kole Calhoun are regulars on play of the day and plays of the week segments across the country. But the Angels have another outfielder in their minor league system that may have just made the play of the year.

Zach Welz is the rightfielder for the Angels Double-a affiliate in Little Rock Arkansas, the Arkansas Travelers. On Wednesday night, Welz made what may just be the catch of the 2016 baseball season.

In a game against their division rival Tulsa Drillers, Driller firstbaseman Cody Bellinger hit what looked to be a guarenteed home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. But Welz was not going to allow a home run celebration on his watch and went up and over to haul in Bellinger's drive and protect the Traveler's 8-4 lead. To say the least, Bellinger was not pleased at Welz' accrobatic catch.
