Hot off her stirring performance of "Tin Man" at the 2017 ACM Awards, Miranda Lambert took the stage at the Sing Me Back Home: The Music of Merle Haggard tribute concert in Nashville on Thursday (April 6) to perform "Misery and Gin."

As a way to pay homage to the legendary Hag, Lambert performed the track — one of her favorites — masterfully bringing to life its somber mood. Her voice complements the melancholy lyrics of curing sorrow with a poor habit as she sings, "Memories and drinks don't mix too well / Jukebox records don't play those wedding bells / Lookin' at the world through the bottom of a glass / All I see is a man who's fading fast."

This wasn't the first time Lambert has sung the moody tune live; she also paid tribute to Haggard with "Misery and Gin" at the 2016 ACM Honors. The song was a hit for Haggard back in the day, reaching the No. 3 spot on what's now know as the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart after its release in 1980.

Haggard's tribute concert brought out a wealth of stars across all genres of music to celebrate his life and illustrious career at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Willie NelsonKenny ChesneyToby KeithChris Janson and many more were all on hand to perform the legend's expansive song catalogue including “Footlights," “Pancho and Lefty” and the Haggard classic “Okie From Muskogee.” Multiple rock stars also showed up to pay their musical respects to the late star, with Lynyrd Skynyrd performing a rendition of “Honky Tonk Night Time Man," the Avett Brothers taking on another classic with "Mama Tried" and Billy Gibbons of  ZZ Top singing "Working Man Blues."
