Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw + More Make Mitt Romney’s Spotify Playlist
While we often check out our friends’ Spotify playlists to see what they’re spinning and who they’re into at any given moment, we don’t really think to check the playlist posted by, say, a national politician. Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is doing a good bit of traveling of late, and the former Massachusetts governor recently tweeted about what he’s been listening to during his cross-country road trips.
“Spending a lot of time on the road means you have to carry good music,” the leading Republican presidential candidate tweeted on March 9, sharing his list. “Here are some of my favorites.” Romney’s playlist features a generous portion of country music, which makes sense since he was visiting the southern region of the States around the same time.
Country artists that made the cut included classic artists like Johnny Cash with ‘Ring of Fire’; Clint Black with a live version of ‘Desperado’; Willie Nelson with ‘Over the Rainbow’ and Roy Orbison with ‘Crying’ and ‘In Dreams,’ as well as a number of more mainstream country acts. Tim McGraw appeared on the list with ‘It’s Your Love’; Toby Keith with ‘As Good as I Once Was’; Keith Urban with ‘Somebody Like You’ and Carrie Underwood — the only country gal on the list — with ‘All-American Girl.’
