Morgan Wallen performed his single "Whiskey Glasses" off his debut album If I Know Me on Today Thursday (Feb. 21).

Hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb introduced the singer's new song, which is climbing the charts into the Top 25 at Country Radio, as it also is topping 80 million streams online.

When the hosts asked Wallen what his motives are right now, he said, " I'm trying to get as many people to know me as I can. We've been traveling all around having a good time."

They also probed a bit on his songwriting process: "I've been playing my whole life. I got hurt so I started writing all of these sad songs to kind of get my feelings out," Wallen told them.

Wallen sings the chorus as proof, which is all that anyone who's been hurt needs to hear: "Imma need some whiskey glasses / Cause I don't wanna see the truth / She's probably making out on the couch right now / With someone new / Yeah, I'ma need some whiskey glasses / If I'm gonna make it through / If I'ma be single / Imma need a double shot of that heartbreak proof / And see the world through whiskey glasses / See the world through whiskey glasses."

Wallen is currently on his headlining "If I Know Me Tour" with sold-out shows upcoming in New York City, Boston, and his home in Nashville. This summer Wallen will be hitting the road with his collaborators Florida Georgia Line on their "Can't Say I Ain't Country Tour" along with support from Dan + Shay and Hardy.
