The 2016 CMA Awards are coming up in November, and the 50th anniversary of the show promises to bring with it some huge performances and many memorable moments. Now that the year's nominees have been announced, The Boot wants to know who our readers think will take home the top prize in each category, from Musician of the Year to Entertainer of the Year. The five nominees in the former category are supremely talented and deserving of the honor -- but only one will take the trophy home.

Jerry Douglas was up for the Musician of the Year award in 2014 and 2015, and in 2015, he won a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album with his band the Earls of Leicester. Between 2015 and 2016, the player has earned eight IBMA Awards: five with the Earls of Leicester; one shared with Mike Auldridge and Rob Ickes, for the song "Three Bells;" and two for Dobro Player of the Year.

Another Musician of the Year nominee, Paul Franklin, has played with everyone from Alan Jackson to Megadeth and was named Steel Guitar Player of the Year by the Academy of Country Music in 2016 and 2014. One of his competitors, Dann Huff, was also up for Musician of the Year in 2014 and 2015, but if you don't know his name, you likely know some of the artists he's worked with: Madonna, Michael Jackson and Keith Urban, among others.

Brent Mason has won the CMA's Musician of the Year award twice and the ACM's Guitarist of the Year honor a whopping 12 times ... and chances are, you've heard him play: He's worked with countless stars, including Zac Brown Band, Blake Shelton, Neil Diamond, Shania Twain and many, many more. Derek Wells rounds out the Musician of the Year nominees in 2016; he's played on records by Chris Janson, Shelton, Jana Kramer, Thomas Rhett, Brett Eldredge, Maddie & Tae, Ashley Monroe and Darius Rucker -- and that's just recently!

Who should win Musician of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards? You can vote in the poll below as often as once an hour until 11:59PM ET on Oct. 31. We’ll compile the results for our readers vs. staff predictions the following day (Nov. 1).

The 2016 CMA Awards are set to air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 2 on ABC at 8PM ET.
