Naomi Judd has a lot of titles to choose from: She’s a country star, speaker, author, talk show host and an actress, too. Once again, fans will get to see the multi-talented singer’s role-playing skills in action when she appears in ‘The Nearlyweds,’ a made-for-television Hallmark movie.

The flick is based on a novel by Beth Kendrick of the same name, and you can probably imagine how the storyline goes. The romantic comedy tells the tale of three couples who hire a minister to perform their marriage. Unfortunately, he dies before he is able to sign their marriage certificates, leaving each couple with a decision to make: Do they get married legally, or end the relationship altogether?

Judd will co-star in the movie, which will premiere on the Hallmark channel on January 12, 2013. The 66-year-old mother of country star Wynonna Judd and actress Ashley Judd has appeared on the network once before.

Before the matriarch of the Judd family started exploring other ways of entertaining, she and her daughter Wynonna made up the popular mother-daughter country duo the Judds. Between 1983 and 1991, the Judds released six studio albums through RCA records. But after Naomi Judd was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, the duo called it quits in 1991.

Mama Judd has been able to reinvent herself successfully since that time. In addition to adding jobs to her acting resume, Judd spent two years hosting ‘Naomi’s New Morning’ — her very own talk show. In 2010, the Judds surprised all of us by making a comeback through a reunion tour.

If ‘The Nearlyweds’ goes the same way as the rest of Naomi Judd’s comeback career, Hallmark movie fans will be in for a treat.
