The first man to walk on the moon, the Astronaut Neil Armstrong, has passed away. His family released a statement which said that Armstrong died of complications from his heart surgery performed several weeks ago!

In 1969, Armstrong was the commander on Apollo 11 spacecraft that landed on the moon. Millions of people tuned in that night to hear Armstrong say: ‘That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.'

The Apollo 11 mission was Armstrong’s last one. He went on becoming ‘NASA's deputy associate administrator for aeronautics in the office of advanced research and technology.’

He will be forever remembered and deeply missed. Rest in peace!
