Nikki Briar Is Looking To Make Waves In Nashville [VIDEO]

Every now and then we come across a gem in an unsuspected place. When I first met Nikki Briar, I was a little unsure of a country singer coming from New Jersey. Only two artists from the Garden State have ever hit the top of the country charts, Eddie Rabbitt and Clint Black. Black grew up in Texas, while Rabbitt in Brooklyn, NY. The only other artist from New Jersey to have a #1 country single was Jon Bon Jovi, and he needed help from Jennifer Nettles.

But Nikki Briar isn't your average Jersey Girl. The moment I first heard her current single, "After The New Wears Off" I knew she was something special. A military wife and recent mother, she is looking to turn Nashville on its backside, and she just might have the tools to do it. This week, Nikki called into the Morning Crew and spent some time talking about being a Jersey girl in Nashville, a mom, her new album and her featured single.
