According to MeTv.com we have a group of girls in the Mistletoe Troop in Muskogee for our once a year addiction. They came up with the idea to sell cookies as a way to raise money. After several years The Girls Scout Association commissioned a kitchen to create the cookies, and even though they weren't officially on sale until 1936, the idea is 100 years old.
This popular canvas and rubber shoe was first introduced by the Converse Rubber Shoe company in 1917. Chuck Taylor as a high school basketball player wore these shoes, and 4 years went to work for the company suggesting some changes, and the rest is history! They were even worn by troops in training in WWII!
This chocolate covered marshmallow filled cookie sandwich is 100 years old. And super yummy!
You would probably thinks that the Clark Bar is named after a guy named Clark. Well, you are right. This peanut butter candy is named for it's creator, David L. Clark. Happy Centennial Clark Bar!
Originally World Book Encyclopedia was just 8 volumes, later editions featured a full 20 volumes, and not, just published the 100th Anniversary edition of the World Book!
