Yesterday, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled the 10 commandments display on the grounds of the state capitol was not inline with the separation of church and state and must be removed.

There is huge public outcry on all sides; some are happy, some are angry, many don't care one way or another.

I want them gone.

But before you start slamming me  --  read on.

If you are a Christian, you should know the 10 commandments are done, finished, out of date and were replaced over 2,000 years ago. .. by Jesus Christ, himself.

In fact, it was a bunch of lawyers that made that happen, too.

....One of them, a layer, asked Him a question, testing Him, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"

And he said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the great and foremost commandment.  The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

So, if you are a Christian, and you are up in arms about the removal of laws that were viewed as outdated 2,000 years ago . . . why are you putting up a fuss now?

And, I'll go a little further. . . . and tell you that putting a religious symbol in a governmental space that promotes one religion over another ABSOLUTELY violates the second great commandment.  I don't want Pagan symbols in the statehouse, I don't want Wiccan statues or Jewish or Muslim or any other religious symbol in my government.  I want to love my neighbors as myself. . .which means I want them to respect me and not push their beliefs on me . .. so, in kind, I do not wish to push mine on them.

They will know we are Christians by our LOVE. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

So, my final argument is this:  why should we worry about 10 commandments when we still need to work on getting TWO right?
