In a tradition that has sadly become a necessity for many military families, Operation Homefront is offering a free holiday meal to all active duty E-1 through E-6 military families this holiday season. The non-profit organization is also offering holiday meals to the families of post-9/11 wounded, regardless of rank.

To receive for a free holiday meal kit, go to www.operationhomefront.net and register before December 6th. Meals kits will be distributed  on December 9th at Cameron University between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each meal kit will contain non-perishables as well as a gift card for non-perishable items.

Operation Homefront is aiming to distribute 400 holiday meals this year through its Holiday Meals for Military program. In the past, Operation Homefront has provided Christmas trees, meals and presents for local military families, as well as providing school supplies at the beginning of the school year for children of military parents.

As a non-profit organization, Operation Homefront collects for events such as these year round and if you are looking to assist with the Christmas event or any future event they can be contacted at their website, or by phone at 580 581-0772.
