Dolly Parton and a cappella group Pentatonix topped four well-known, mainstream country acts to win the Best Country Duo / Group Performance Grammy on Sunday (Feb. 12). Their version of "Jolene" took the award during a pre-show ceremony.

The group beat Dierks Bentley and Elle King's "Different for Girls," Brothers Osborne's "21 Summer," Kenny Chesney and Pink's "Setting the World On Fire," and Chris Young and Cassadee Pope's "Think of You." Neither Parton or Pentatonix were on hand to accept during the Grammy Premiere Ceremony.

"Jolene" is one of a number of collaborations the group has released in recent years. Pentatonix gained national recognition after winning Season 3 of NBC's The Sing Off. They're released several albums since, but have yet to include "Jolene" on any of them. Unlike the others in this category it was released only as a digital single. Of course the song was first a hit for Parton in the early 1970s. She wrote and cut the song as a solo artist and it's considered amongst her all-time best.

Earlier during the 2017 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum picked up two Grammy Awards for her Love Remains album and the song “Thy Will.” Both came in the Contemporary Christian categories. Most of the country awards were announced during the pre-show ceremony, with Sturgill Simpson winning in the Best Country Album category and Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind" (written by Lori McKenna) winning in the Best Country Song category.
