At around 10:30 am Tuesday morning, a small airplane crashed near Midwestern Parkway and Henry S. Grace Freeway.

The plane - a Beechcraft single-engine airplane - went down about 150 yards from the Clinics of North Texas in an empty mesquite field nearby while on approach to Kickapoo Airport. There were two people on board - a student and an instructor. Authorities are reporting that both individuals on board suffered only minor injuries.

Wichita Falls Fire Department Assistant Chief Jon Reese says the plane made its controlled crash landing very close to Fire Station # 3 on Brewster.

Reese says the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the exact cause of the crash, but a witness told authorities the plane seemed to have lost all power seconds before the crash.
