Randy Travis' curated Spotify playlist now includes a newcomer from Canada, an outlaw from Texas and one of country music's most visible superstars. This week the Country Music Hall of Famer added five more songs to his Diggin' Up Songs playlist, revealing the additions exclusively with Taste of Country.

Cody Jinks' "Hippies and Cowboys," a sparse neo-outlaw country shuffle and Heidi Ray's "Junkyard" are two of the additions. In addition Travis chose "I Never Shed a Tear" by throwback Joshua Hedley and "Lie" by Alabama-raised traditionalist Shane Owens.

Fans will likely recognize Blake Shelton's "I Lived It" from the radio or his latest Texoma Shore album. Shelton's song joins other mainstream hits by Scotty McCreery, Lee Brice and Chris Young on this country music playlist. Diggin' Up Songs hasn't been confined to what's on the radio, however — the original press release for the playlist indicated that Travis would simply be choosing songs and artists he appreciates.

“Though Randy may not be able to perform right now, his love and affinity for music stands strong," his wife, Mary Davis-Travis, says. "We like to say he is ‘singing a new song’ and spending his time giving back to the community and supporting fellow artists — streaming is a great new outlet to do just that."

Expect this Spotify playlist to be updated every two weeks. As of now there are 15 songs listed, creating a neat and tidy sampling of what's hot to a man that defines country music for a generation of fans.
