Showing further signs that his condition has greatly improved, singer Randy Travis made an appearance to see good friend Dolly Parton perform Saturday night in Thackerville, OK. The 55 year old singer, who suffered a stroke while in the hospital last July, has been rarely seen publicly since his release from Baylor Heart Hospital.

During the show, Parton seant an extra special message to Travis, "There are some people you just love and admire for their talents. Tonight, one of those people are here," she said. "Randy Travis, wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying the show." Travis later joined Parton and singer Janie Frickie backstage after the performance. Later, Parton told People Magazine that "It was so great to have Randy at my show, he was looking good and doing great."

Travis entered a private physical therapy facility after his discharge from Baylor Hospital last July, after undergoing brain surgery following the stroke. Travis was in the Baylor University facility at the time of his stroke undergoing treatment for heart failure following a viral infection.
