Rory Feek shared back in January that he has "no desire" to sing or perform without his wife, Joey Feek. But it sounds as though he will continue to pursue other creative endeavors, as his wife wished.

Rory Feek tells People that before her death on March 4, his wife "talked to me about how she wants me to continue to tell our story and other stories."

In addition to his musical work with his wife, Feek has proven that he has a wealth of creative talent. The artist has written hits for Blake Shelton, Jimmy Wayne and others, and he beautifully weaves together stories on his blog, This Life I Live. Feek has also been working on a Civil War movie called Josephine.

"She wants me to go on and continue writing and making more movies," Feek says. "... And she's also encouraged me to write a book. Joey and I have both experienced the power of living, and telling a great story, so I hope to be able to continue writing and being part of a great story."

After spending Joey Feek's final months in her hometown on Alexandria, Ind., Rory Feek and his 2-year-old daughter Indiana, along with older daughters Heidi and Hopie, have returned to their home in Tennessee, where his wife will be laid to rest in their family cemetery. A public memorial service for the singer will be held on March 13 at 2:30PM, at the Alexandria-Monroe High School gymnasium, in Alexandria.
