It's the news that no one wanted to hear, but at least now, the healing can begin.

After 14 days of searching, Stephens County Sheriff's Office announced this morning that they believe they found the body of Damion Davidson, the missing 8-year-old Duncan boy.

At around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, searchers discovered a body they believe is Damion. Details on where he was found has not been released. At a press conference regarding this discovery, officials stated a positive identification has not been made yet. That will be determined by the Medical Examiner, and that they would be releasing more information when a determination is made.

Damion was reported missing from his home on June 12th. Authorities said Damion, who is autistic, went missing from the 1400 block of N 7 Street; surveillance video from a store near his home captured his image about 7:30 a.m.

During the search for the boy, hundreds of citizens joined with members of the Duncan Police Department and the Stephens County Sheriff's office, wo reported that more than 5,000 man hours were spent looking for the boy. Dive teams, drones, planes and K-9's were all used during the search, which initially focused on the nearby Claridy Creek and then expanded into Stephens County.
