Nashville has lost one of its brightest talents. Songwriter Andrew Dorff has passed away, according to multiple reports.

The Nashville Songwriters Association International broke the news of Dorff's death via Facebook.

“It is with immeasurable grief that we learn of the passing of our friend Andrew Dorff," NSAI President Lee Thomas Miller states. "Our songwriting community is small and close and this loss will hurt us all deeply. Andrew was a good man and a good friend. He was an elite songwriter at the peak of his life and career. Our sincerest prayers go out to his family. May we all hug each other a little tighter this week and remember that life is fragile. Rest in peace Andrew."

Nashville's Tennessean reports that Dorff died on Monday (Dec. 19). No cause of death has been reported.

Dorff was a hit songwriter who had written songs for Blake Shelton that included two No. 1 hits, "My Eyes" and "Neon Light." His other No. 1 hits include "Save It for a Rainy Day," recorded by Kenny Chesney, and "Somebody's Heartbreak" for Hunter Hayes, and his song were cut by many others, including William Michael Morgan, whose current single, "Missing," bears Dorff's name.

According to his bio, his father was songwriter Steve Dorff -- whose hits include George Strait's "I Cross My Heart" and "Heartland" -- and he grew up in Los Angeles, often accompanying his dad on trips to Nashville. Dorff recorded an album for Sony titled Hint of Mess and toured internationally, then recorded for Lost Highway. After 10 years of touring and recording, that led to his decision to move to Nashville and pursue songwriting full-time. His brother is actor Stephen Dorff.
