Top 10 Summer Candies That You Love And Want The Most
I get the feeling this kind of list is going to make people angry or hungry one way or another. An online candy store called Candy Crate claims they have the list of the 10 most popular summer candies, based on a survey of 2,100 people. I looked at the list then I went on an adventure to the local candy store at Central Mall to find them all.
Jammie, the manager of Candyopolis met me and we discussed this survey. We talked about each of the candies listed below.
Salt Water Taffy
Traditional candy, it is one that you either love or hate. I have never really cared for the stuff myself.
I could eat these all day long. They are one of my guilty pleasures.
Jelly Fruit Slices
Another one of the candies that takes me back to my childhood. I love the tart and sweetness of these Orange slices.
Another old favorite of mine. They also have great fruit flavors that are good around Halloween and Christmas.
Sour Patch Kids
My kids loved them growing up and will still have them added to their snow cones during the summer months.
Chocolate flavored candies originally sold in packages with colors of red, brown, green, orange and yellow. Now you can get them in a wider variety of colors for special occasions like weddings or birthdays.
Another candy you love or hate. It is a hard candy that contains a sour powder comprising of malic and tartaric acids mixed with sodium bicarbonate. When the powder dissolves, the acids and sodium bicarbonate react with liquid (saliva or water) to produce carbon dioxide bubbles and a fizzing sensation. Usually grossed out girls and parents despised them for the mess they made. One of my favorites.
Jammie said she did not have this product, but, she said she sells a good amount of the Flash Pop Rings.
Watermelon Gummy Rings.
These are as delicious as they look. Sweet and sour and I almost asked for a salt shaker to sprinkle some salt on the candy.
Good for when you are traveling and you want something quick and easy to open while driving.
