Carrie Underwood just released the first single from her new record on Thursday (Feb. 23), debuting the song ‘Good Girl‘ at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville and through iTunes. The next day, Underwood performed at a 2012 Oscars launch party in Beverly Hills, where she offered up a killer acoustic version of the song with a live band, which you can see in the clip below.
The 2012 Oscars is that one night a year where no one wants to be on the worst dressed list. Despite all their efforts, however, there’s always those handful of stars that think they’re workin’ it when really Tim Gunn is rolling his eyes in the background.
The 2012 Oscars managed to include the expected and shocks all at the same time. Odds on favorite, ‘The Artist’, won five awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin and Best Director for Michel Hazanivicius. But ‘Hugo’ gave it a run for its money, also bringing home five awards (though none in the major categories).
When the Best Picture is named Sunday at the Academy Awards it will have been selected by the 5,765 voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The movies you’ll look back on and wonder exactly how the heck it ever got nominated for an Oscar.
The Academy Awards are slated for Sunday evening. While you can catch the live broadcast on ABC at 7 p.m. ET, there’s no reason you can’t get into the spirit of Hollywood’s biggest night now.
Here’s a look at this year’s nominees in the major categories. Let your voice be heard and tell us who you think will win!
The stars hit the red carpet for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, including nominees Natalie Portman, Melissa Leo, Michelle Williams, Christian Bale, Jesse Eisenberg, plus co-host Anne Hathaway.
Over its 83 years, the Academy Awards ceremony has produced hundreds of memorable, inspirational and surprising moments. The coveted Oscar statuette instigates cinema's elite to cry, kiss, scream and "exercise." With emotions running high and the tension thick, there is no telling what will happen during the upcoming February 27th show. Maybe even something that will knock one of the following best moments off the all time list.
