The 47th Annual ACM Awards is coming up this Sunday. The two Oklahomans, Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton, will once again host the show. They were funny last year and we expect more of the same this year.

Luke Bryan has been looking forward to this weekend for some time now. In addition to performing on the 2012 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 1), Bryan will also take part in the special ‘Lionel Richie and Friends – In Concert’ taping set to take place the following night.

Little Big Town will take the Las Vegas stage at the 47th annual ACM Awards with a song and a message. By performing a song called ‘Here’s Hope’ on the April 1 CBS telecast, they’ll be helping to end child hunger.

While several of the biggest 2012 ACM Awards will be doled out April 1 during the live telecast on CBS, time restrictions keep the other honorees from being awarded on-camera. The field of eight ACM New Artist of the Year nominees has been trimmed to three. Fans decided that Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery were the most deserving in a fan-voted poll through GAC-TV.

Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift and Jason Aldean were among those who racked up multiple nominations on Thursday morning (Jan. 26) when the Academy of Country Music announced their nominees for the 2012 ACM Awards.

The Academy of Country Music took a different approach to naming the nominations for the 2012 ACM Awards, inciting a first-time digital press conference via their Facebook page, as opposed to simply posting a list of hopefuls. With help from folks like Reba McEntire, Lionel Richie, Nancy O’Dell of ‘Entertainment Tonight’ and more, the red carpet was rolled out for this year’s event.

For the first time ever, the Academy of Country Music is taking a totally different spin on the way they unroll their awards. This year, they’re hitting the internet and announcing the 2012 ACM Awards nominees on Facebook and Twitter, with the bulk of the nominations being unveiled during a digital press conference on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 AM PT.
