Chris Young is taking a month-long break from drinking — or at least, that’s the goal. The ‘Tomorrow’ hitmaker shared via his Twitter page that he’s inciting No Alcohol December following the ever-popular No Shave November, which means he won’t drink until after Christmas.
Chris Young took the stage at the 2011 CMA Awards performing his No. 1 single from earlier this year, ‘Voices.’ The sexy singer was all smiles as he stood surrounded by the ones who have put him at the top of the charts four times now — his loving and loyal fans — at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
In the last five years, Chris Young has gone from being just another struggling country artist to scoring three top five albums, four straight number one singles, and a growing stack of awards, as well as a 2010 Grammy nomination.
All that success has changed his life — but it’s still new enough that Young can remember the days when the top of the charts seemed like they were a million miles away.
These days, Chris Young is riding high with his fourth consecutive number one single, ‘Tomorrow,’ and a new hit album, ‘Neon.’ But life wasn’t always so rosy for the onetime ‘Nashville Star’ winner.
In fact, before Young released his first hit single, ‘Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),’ he had to deal with the news that his father had been diagnosed with cancer. Though he’s healthy now, dealing with those highs and lows has helped keep Young grounded during the more glamorous moments of his career.
Chris Young will go overseas again to entertain U.S. troops. He will perform for U.S. military stationed in Iraq and Kuwait beginning today through April 21.
Darius Rucker is debuting a new song at this Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards. And he'll be performing it with 25 of the co-writers.
