"You're My Best Friend" is an American country song written by Wayland Holyfield, and most famously recorded by Don Williams.

This was an international hit for Telly Savalas (who played Kojak), it topped the Swiss charts in early 1981. And the Bellamy Brothers did a cover of this song Reggae style in 1999 for their Reggae Cowboy album. It hit #1 on this date, 35 years ago in 1977. This was his 6th out of 17 #1's.
