In what might be the least surprising debut of the year, Lady Antebellum‘s new album has ended its first week at the top of the charts — pretty much all of them, in fact.
With sales of nearly 350,000 units, ‘Own the Night’ outpaced its competition by a wide margin, coming in at number one on the country charts, as well as Billboard’s overall Top 200 tally. As an added bonus, it also topped the album sales charts in Canada.
Lady Antebellum struck platinum with their first album and they haven’t looked back, sending each of their first nine singles to the top 20 and selling more than five million albums in the U.S. since 2008. It’s a success story that plenty of bands would love to duplicate, to say the least.
But no matter how quickly they found their audience, or how tightly the trio might harmonize at the mic, things haven’t always been easy for Lady Antebellum behind the scenes. In fact, it wasn’t so long ago that they had to call in a third party to help them communicate.
With millions of albums sold and a growing list of hits to their name, Lady Antebellum are one of the fastest-rising young acts in the music business. As they gear up to promote their just-released third album, ‘Own the Night,’ they’re on the verge of delivering one of the biggest sales successes of 2011.
And according to singer Hillary Scott, none of it might have happened if it wasn’t for Whoopi Goldberg.
Lady Antebellum is preparing for their first-ever performance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend. Some country acts have been fortunate enough to get the coveted musical guest slot more than once on SNL, now in it's 37th season.
Have you forgotten that Lady Antebellum‘s new album, ‘Own the Night,’ is scheduled to come out next week?
Yeah, we didn’t think so. But just in case you had — or you were looking for a couple more sneak peeks at one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year — the band has posted two more clips of songs from the album.
With millions of records sold in armloads of Grammys to their credit, the members of Lady Antebellum are certified country music royalty — so perhaps vocalist Hillary Scott was feeling like a princess the other night in New Hampshire when she met a frog backstage.
And even though Scott’s already found her prince in fiance Chris Tyrell, who can blame a girl for wanting to see if magic will strike twice?
After a long, cold winter of labor disputes, lockouts, and a few months where it looked like we might not have a football season this year, the 2011 NFL season is just about ready to begin.
And before the Packers and Saints finally take the field for the first game on September 8, some of music’s biggest stars will celebrate the new season with this year’s NFL Kickoff Concert, featuring performances from Maroon 5, Kid Rock, and Lady Antebellum.
Two weeks can seem like an eternity when you’re waiting for something you really want — and Lady Antebellum fans are feeling it right now, counting down the days until the September 13 release of the band’s highly anticipated third album, ‘Own the Night.’
But if you’ve been impatiently marking down the days, we’ve got some good news — and a pair of new songs for you to enjoy.

When Lady Antebellum returns with its third album, ‘Own the Night,’ on September 13, the country trio will kick off a major promotional campaign that will see them on the road, on TV (including a performance on ‘Saturday Night Live’), and, of course, all over the radio.
But they aren’t stopping there. As the band revealed during a recent interview with Billboard, they’re also hooking up with two of the most popular online music destinations.
Can’t wait until September 13 to hear Lady Antebellum’s new album, ‘Own the Night’? Great news: you can listen to every song on the record right now.
Well. Sort of, anyway.
For the second week in a row, Lady Antebellum‘s ‘Just a Kiss’ is the top song on Billboard’s country charts — and now it can add the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart to its lists of conquests.
It’s another in a string of hits for the fast-rising band — and to hear singer Hillary Scott tell it, they always knew the song was going to be something special.
