The Secret Sisters Reflect on Debut Album, American Music Awards Nomination

They may not be household names yet, but with an American Music Award nomination and a T Bone Burnett-produced debut album to their credit, the Secret Sisters are on the rise.

The duo — otherwise known as real-life sisters Laura and Lydia Rogers — will compete with Mumford and Sons, the Civil Wars and Jessica Lea Mayfield for Best New/Emerging Artist honors at this year’s AMAs, scheduled for Sunday, November 20.

Billy Dean Promotes Local Farming with New Album, ‘The Seed’

It’s been awhile since Billy Dean released some new music — and even longer since he tasted the kind of chart success he enjoyed with his first few albums in the early ’90s — but he’s making plans to change all that.

Dean has partnered with the Naturipe Farms collective for a series of new recordings, starting with a digital EP that’s currently available on iTunes). He also has plans for a full album in the fall. Blake Shelton’s ‘Red River Blue’ Is Number One on Billboard Albums Chart

Blake Shelton may be having the best year ever.

New Merle Haggard Album, ‘Working in Tennessee’ Set for October Release

Cancer survivor Merle Haggard says he’s “swinging back in full throttle right now,” and his engine is revving thanks in part to his new album, ‘Working in Tennessee,’ which is due Oct. 4 on Vanguard Records.

“Music keeps me alive. It makes me breathe better,” says Haggard, who had a cancerous tumor removed from his right lung in November 2008.

Dwight Yoakam Plans New Album for 2012

Dwight Yoakam has a new album coming out next year -- and it'll mark a return to his longtime home, Warner Music, after a decade spent recording for other labels.

"Dwight Yoakam is country music. His voice is immediately recognizable and his artistry is iconic," said label president John Esposito while announcing the signing. "When I heard his current music, I was blown away. I think that it is some of the best music he has ever done and I’m incredibly proud to have him back at Warner Bros. Records."
