Would Anyone Watch a TV Remake of 'The Munsters?'

‘The Munsters,’ which gave television a macabre twist in the mid-60s along with ‘The Addams Family’, is reportedly returning to the small screen.

NBC has ordered a pilot for a one-hour-long ‘Munsters’ reboot from ‘Pushing Daisy’s’ creator Bryan Fuller. Keeping in the tradition of recent shows like ‘Grimm’ and ‘Once Upon a Time,’ the show will be darker than the original campier version. As far as story lines go, this new re-imagined program will focus on how the ‘Munster’ household got together.

Universal Developing New 'Scarface' Movie

A reboot of the oft-quoted 1983 cult classic ‘Scarface’ is being developed by Universal.

There is no timeline for the release of the film, at this point, since potential script writers are being considered. Universal doesn’t intend the film be a sequel or a remake, but rather a re-imagination that draws from the themes prevalent in both Al Pacino’s notorious version of Scarface and the original 1932 Howard Hawkes-directed ‘Scarface.’

'Point Break' to Get 'Extreme' Remake

‘Point Break,’ Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 caper flick boasted Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves and Gary Busey, all at the heights of their ass-kicking powers, plus surfing, skydiving, bank-robbing and other assorted dare-deviling. In other words, it was one extreme flick.

Nevertheless, Warner Brothers is planning to remake the film and try to make it even more exciting, by setting the tale of FBI infiltration of a criminal gang in the world of extreme sports.
