While we’re not sure that anyone outside of Bradley Cooper’s immediate family was particularly excited when the ‘Hangover 2′ star was named ‘People Magazine”s Sexiest Man Alive, it seems like fans of rival heartthrob Ryan Gosling are taking the news the hardest.

In fact, dozens of jilted Gosling-ites channeled the spirit of the 99 percent and “occupied” the sidewalk in front of People Magazine’s New York City Headquarters in support of their man. Check out some of our favorite photos from the rally below.

There are few pop culture accolades higher than PEOPLE‘s annual Sexiest Man Alive. Heck, even actor and perennial Sexiest Man Alive George Clooney made reference to receiving this vaunted status during his Oscar acceptance speech a few years ago. While actor Bradley Cooper took the top honor this year, country superstar Tim McGraw also made the list. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen!
