By day’s end, however, things were much more exciting — even a little strange. Blake Shelton was honored in a “hottest guy” poll, and Trace Adkins must have just been hot when he took his clothes off to record new music.

Former Monkees singer Davy Jones died of a heart attack today (Feb. 29) at the age of 66. Though Jones was a pop icon, memorizing kids of the ’60s with his television series band, even country stars were affected by the loss and shared fond memories of the singer and the show via Twitter. It just goes to show that music is a universal language, regardless of genre.
Trace Adkins has been named the spokesman for Pilot Flying J’s soon-to-be-launched loyalty program, which is set to kick off this spring. Pilot Flying J, in case you didn’t know, is the largest operator of travel centers and plazas in North America. Pro drivers, motorists and road warriors like Adkins rely on travel centers to survive while on the road.

Adkins has teamed up with the Smithsonian National Postal Museum to present the true children’s story of Owney — the dog famous for riding the rails and visiting Post Offices across the country in the 1890s — in a new eBook.
