Sometimes, you hear news that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Your rational mind denies it. You remind yourself that no one could possibly be that greedy. No one could possibly be that stupid. No film studio could loathe their audience that much. This is a Rumor with a capital “R,” so grab your fistful of salt, but Bloody Disgusting is reporting that the folks at Lionsgate (who recently acquired Summit Entertainment) are already discussing a reboot of the ‘Twilight‘ franchise.

In one corner, we have ‘The Hunger Games,’ the acclaimed book series by Suzanne Collins that some say will turn into a bigger franchise than ‘Twilight,’ what with the upcoming movie version starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. The story takes place in an alternate future where 12 boys and 12 girls are randomly chosen to fight to the death in a televised event. What’d you think? Better than a vampire romance?

Unfortunately, it seems the masses are a bit insane, because retailers are reporting scores of die-hard Twilight fans, or ‘Twihards’ are lying about being engaged solely to try on the dress.
