The Band Perry are enormously excited about their new song, "Comeback Kid," and they stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio to talk about the unique process behind the new track.

The song is the first single the sibling trio have released since they left their deal with Big Machine and signed with Interscope. They worked with Benny Cassette, who's best known for producing pop acts.

"It was our first song to really get to co-produce on," Kimberly Perry tells us. "So even though there was one producer's chair in the studio, we all got to sit in at various times. It was like a time share; I got two hours because I'm the oldest."

"Comeback Kid" is the first single off their forthcoming project on their new label home. Despite what the reports have said, the Band Perry have cleared the air and confirmed that they are staying country and not "going pop." The new album will have a theme of "togetherness" that will be dispersed through the whole record.

The trio will be performing their new empowerment single, as well as the track "Live Forever," in Rio during this year's Olympic games.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 75 stations nationwide. Listen to highlights on iTunes or your Android device.
