The 2016 Grammy Awards' abundance of moving performances continued with a touching tribute to Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey, who died on Jan. 18 at the age of 67 due to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.

A group comprised of Eagles co-founders Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, guitarist Joe Walsh and bassist Timothy Schmit, as well as Jackson Browne, performed 1972's "Take It Easy." The song, which was co-written by Browne and Frey and reached No. 12 on the Billboard singles charts, was the Eagles' first hit.

Understandably, there was certainly a somber tone to the performance of the song. Drummer Henley especially looked subdued as he kept time behind the front row of instrumentalists. However, the inimitable harmonies for which the Eagles are known were still on point despite Frey's absence; in fact, many audience members were spotted singing along softly to the song.

Near the end of the song, a large color photo of Frey appeared on a screen behind the performers, and remained visible until the end of the song, when the musicians gathered at the front of the stage for a quick bow.
