Well the time has come! Ready or not, week one of the regular high school football season is upon us. It's the culmination of many hot practices, scrimmages, and motivational speeches from the coaches, and now its time to show it on the field.

The boys up on the Hill are ready to get this season started and for the MacArthur Highlanders, their first big test coming to town is defending 4-A champions the Clinton Red Tornadoes. The action will take place this Thursday night at Cameron stadium at 7:00 pm.

Those who remember game one between these two teams last year on a hot Friday night at the tornado bowl in Clinton, recall it was a very physical game that came down to MacArthur just outlasting the Tornadoes with their great stamina. In the end, the well conditioned Highlanders, who's motto has been "Play Fast," endured to a 28-14 win and handed Clinton one of the only two losses they suffered all season long on their way to their 16th state championship. Even though both teams have lost good players to graduation, these two historic programs are used to "reloading" instead of " rebuilding," and this first game of the year should be just as interesting and fun to watch as last year.
