MidSouth Youth Rodeo Cowboys Association Finals

August 30th to September 03, 2012

Visit Duncan to support young men and women competing in this rodeo.  The vent features rough stock and barrel racing, as well as other fun activities.  Held at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center, the MRCA finals event will wrap up with an awards presentation.

Heart of America Carnival

August 30 to September 02, 2012

The Heart of America carnival will be held at the Great Plains coliseum parking lot nightly from 6 p.m. to close. Sunday the hours are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The carnival offers numerous rides, games and food. There is a variety of children's rides for the younger group like the merry-go-ground and the gator roller coaster. Plenty of faster and exciting rides for the more adventurous. For the little faster, but still gentle rides they have the new gondola, swings and the favorite - the ferris wheels. For the thrill seekers they offer the tsunami, gravitron, kami kaze and more! Tickets are available at the gate. You can purchase an all day, every day pass for $30 or a one night pass for $20.

PRCA Rodeo of Champions

August 31 to September 02, 2012

You saw their stock at the Lawton Rangers rodeo, now you can see them in their home town of Elk City.  For over 70 years, Elk City has hosted one of the most renowned rodeos in the state of Oklahoma. The PRCA Rodeo of champions is held every Labor Day weekend at the Beutler Brothers Arena and it brings in thousands of visitors to watch the top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls compete for cash and points as they ride, rope or wrestle their way to win national titles.

The 6th Annual Mayor's Blues Ball

August 31 to September 02, 2012

Head out to Medicine Park for three days of celebrating blues music at the 6th Annual Mayor's Blues Ball. The festivities begin on Friday, August 31st at 7pm with a kick off party featuring the band Blueprint. The fun continues throughout the weekend with various artists including Big Mike Griffin, The Soul Survivors, Magic Mike & the Wild Blues Yonder, The Roland Bowling Band and much more. Bring your lawn chair and join friends in historic Medicine Park for this fun-filled weekend.

Gotebo Get Down

September 1st, 2012

Oh come on! You know you want to go! Spend a fun filled day with friends and family in my neck of the woods. The Gotebo GetDown kicks off with a parade starting at 11am. Browse through vendors selling all sorts of things like jewelry and crafts. Take part in the ice cream and watermelon eating contests. The kids can watch frog and turtle races, have their faces painted and participate in games. The Get Down also features live music and entertainment throughout the day. You don't want to miss the "Get Down"!

Comanche County Fair

September 03 - September 07, 2012

The Comanche County Fair begins Monday, September 3rd at the Comanche County Fairgrounds. Lots of family friendly activities happen at the fair. The fair features a variety of commercial and local agricultural exhibits, including livestock, arts and crafts, award-winning farm produce and 4-H and FFA displays. Don't miss the horse show or the petting barnyard featuring donkeys, llamas and goats. Children's activities will also be available, as well as antique tractor and farm equipment displays.
