Spring was in full bloom at Saturday's Technicolor Run at Cameron University in Lawton. And that's just the colors that were thrown in the air at the start of the 5K walk to benefit the Children's Starlight Fund.

I have to admit, I was a little less than thrilled to get colored powder thrown at me from all sides, but it was for a good cause. My daughter Whitney felt the same way. She is a little girly, and didn't want to get dirty! Plus, we had family pictures scheduled for later that afternoon. Talk about poor scheduling! Cyndie gave up her bandana for the cause so Whitney's long, long hair would not be covered in color!

I was also concerned about walking the complete 5K. My last attempt ended poorly, finishing only 2 miles of the Jingle Jog in December. But that day was bitterly cold, and the wind was howling...that was my excuse anyway. The weather couldn't have been better for this great walk/run! And, as the course was almost entirely on the campus of Cameron University, a beautiful scenic walk as well. Mission accomplished! (Check all of the colors! We didn't miss any!)
