There have been far too many stories in the news this summer about parents leaving their kids in the car while they go in and shop. This is not okay! We all know that a quick trip in the store can end up being much more than that. You never know what will happen in there, so why are some people willing to risk the safety of their kids to save a few seconds of time getting their kids in and out of the car?

There have already been 16 heatstroke deaths of children left in hot cars this year compared to 44 last year.

The video above shows what happens to an adult when you leave him in a hot car. By the first five minutes I was sweating. By 10 minutes I was drenched. At 15 minutes sweat was literally dripping off my body. And by the end I was sick, I had a headache, and this would have been devastating if I were a child.

FYI -- my wife and son were monitoring me during the video so I didn't pass out or actually hurt myself.
