Thomas Rhett's new Life Changes album features some surprises. There are two duets and some cross-genre pollinating that is raising eyebrows to Jesus.

"Craving You" and "Unforgettable" are the two singles so far. Strangely, Rhett didn't write either of them, which makes them outliers on an album that promises to be very personal. But we're giving too much away. Here are five at times shocking truths about Thomas Rhett's Life Changes album, available Sept. 8.

5. An EDM Song?

Country, rock, R&B and EDM music all influence Rhett's third studio album. Yep, electronic dance music finds its way onto a song called "Leave Right Now." We're hearing it's Coldplay-ish, and Rhett says he intends to bring people from other genres to his music with songs like this.

4. "Die a Happy Man," Part 2?

Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur helped Rhett write his biggest career hit, and they're back with two co-writes on Life Changes. "Sixteen" and "Sweetheart" also feature the singer as a writer. Elsewhere Douglas helped pen a song called "Gateway Love."

3. Bringing the '90s Back!

We see you, Rhett Akins! The '90s hitmaker and TR's dad makes a cameo on a song called "Drink a Little Beer." Could it be an all-time country drinking song? It would have to top one of these:

2. Them Babies

Rhett didn't know his wife was pregnant when he finished his Life Changes album, but he did know he and wife Lauren would be adopting Willa Gray from Uganda. The title track is about becoming a father, but also so much more, Rhett tells us.

1. Life Changes May Be Super Personal!

Rhett wrote 10 of 14 songs on Life Changes and admits all of those were penned on his bus. He is known for getting really personal on songs and for revealing intimate details about his childhood, adulthood and life with Lauren. Titles like "Sixteen," "Marry Me" and "Sweetheart" are Awww...
