What’s just about the worst thing that can happen to a singer who’s getting ready to promote his new album?

If you answered “laryngitis,” you know what’s been plaguing Toby Keith — and what forced him to cancel his Sunday appearance at Canada’s Big Valley Jamboree.

“A severe case of laryngitis and doctor’s advice forced me to cancel my show,” wrote Keith in a Facebook update. “Hate that I had to do that. Thanks to Ronnie Dunn for extending his set and thanks for all of your get well messages.”

All Keith can do now is rest his voice. There’s no word yet on whether his condition will affect other dates on his Locked & Loaded tour, which is scheduled to touch down in Wheatland, California on Thursday. Keith’s new album, ‘Clancy’s Tavern,’ will reach stores on October 25.
