Today is Popular Breakup Day

If you get a call today from a friend who is suddenly single, you won't be alone.

Facebook has analyzed thousands of posts and determined two weeks before Christmas is one of the most active periods for relationships ending.

If you see that profile change from "in a relationship" to "single," it might not be a comfort to them to know they are in a large group of other suddenly singles . . . but you might be able to be a great friend and help them through this rough time.

Why do so many couples break up two weeks before Christmas?  Some science tells us it is the pressure of the holiday combined with the pressure of taking a deeper relationship step as this yearly milestone passes.  Some couples just break under the pressure.
