The year was 1951.  Most of us hadn't even been born yet, but Marty Robbins was in the recording studio for the very first time!

Fast forward a few years to 1956 when Robbins took a song that had previously reached the number one spot with a recording by Guy Mitchell.  'Singing the Blues' was a number for Marty Robbins as well, in fact stayed at the top for a whopping 13 weeks.  A feat that doesn't happen often.  Most recent multi week number ones were Taylor Swift with 9 weeks with 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' and Florida Georgia Line with 20 weeks with 'Cruise'.
