Townsquare Pet Patrol
There are many organizations throughout Southwest Oklahoma dedicated to pets and pet adoptions. From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family.
Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol will be highlighting adoptable pets from throughout the Southwest Oklahoma area, hoping to find furr-ever homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.
This week we are highlighting animals from 8 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.
Please remember to spay and neuter your pets, and of course to adopt, not shop!
This beautiful Shepherd/Lab mix is Olivia! She is about 2 years old and came to us as an owner surrender. She is an alert, curious girl and will thrive in a family who will involve her in daily activities. This girl loves being near people and would love to be your right hand gal.
Olivia is good with children, other dogs and even feline friends. She is accustomed to being an inside dog and though we cannot guarantee house training, we can tell you that she keeps her kennel clean. Olivia is also crate trained. She is treat motivated and eager to please, which makes her a perfect candidate for learning all kinds of new tricks! Tricks that might include wearing a tutu and scarf while posing for a picture!
Eva is the longest staying resident in Lawton Animal Welfare at this time. She is a Female Curr mix, that is about 3 Years Old and is looking for a new home. Come on down and visit her.
If you're looking for the perfect Truck Dog, who wants to go everywhere with you, then you just found your new best friend.
Rocky is a 6 month old male staffy/boxer mix. Little rocky came to lawton animal welfare extremely emaciated and fearful of people. Lawton animal welfare was kind enough to let us take him into our care after putting some weight on him. Rocky is really starting to shine now with his new foster. He has learned basic commands and how to act like a puppy! He's super excited for attention and affection.
With his new found confidence he has turned into a total goofball! He walks around gracefully with his head held high now! Rocky would be an awesome family dog as long as you have a fenced backyard. He loves going outside to play with toys. Belly rubs are his favorite passing time. This sweet boy needs a chance to be someone's everything!
If you'd like to meet our little rocky, please contact Marty at 580 585-4963
Dottie is a year-and-a-half old female Pit Mix, who is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. Great with kids and other dogs and cats. We pulled her from a high killed shelter on her last day of being euthanized. She is sweet girl and ready to find her a new family.

Welcome Nakita, a 5 year old boxer/pitbull mix to your life. Nakita is a wonderful dog, outgoing and sweet, loves to go for walks and loves treats. She is housebroken, great with children and of course loves people. Nakita will do best in a home without other dogs but don't pass up a great dog because of that. Our girl loves our volunteers and is a favorite to take walking. Another plus for Nakita is that she is very clean. She doesn't like to make messes and she will nicely sit for a treat. Our girl is a gem and will do great in a family home. Contact us for more information on how you can add this girl to your family.

Tux is an 11 month old border collie mix, whois an out going, happy go lucky, and a ball of energy who likes his chew toys. He is still a little unsure about the leash but it's a work in progress. He does likes his kennel and sometimes even puts him self in it for a nap. He's a bit greedy about food with other fur friends but doesn't mind sharing people or kiddos. He's good with other dogs and cats and doesn't even seem to notice the bunny. He's still working on potty training but only has a few accidents when he's left unattended for extended periods of time.
His adoption fee is $140.00, which includes a negative heart worm test and monthly heart worm and flea preventative. He is up to date on age appropriate shots, dewormed, and micro chipped which is activated by the rescue for up to a year. Tux also comes with 30 days free veterinary insurance which must be activated by his adopters.

Butch Cassidy is a 1-2 year old Border Collie/Lab Mix. He loves long walks and he would love to walk with his very own human even longer. He is laid back, loving, and gets along with other dogs. He is great with cats too. This sweet boy is waiting patiently in his kennel for a loving family to take him home. Butch is a mid-size dog and will not get any bigger.
Every dog deserves a family, please open your heart and give him a second chance.
