Trace Adkins is no stranger to USO Tours. The country singer has toured overseas several times over the years to provide concerts to our U.S. troops. As a result, he was given the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award in May for his long-standing support and advocacy for America's servicemen and women.

According to the NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association), the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award is given to one individual each year who "best reflects President Eisenhower's beliefs and support for a strong national security and industrial base."

On May 12, NDIA awarded Adkins with the 2016 Eisenhower Award and Medal. In June, he once again traveled to Kuwait for a series of additional USO tour dates where U.S. Army Central interviewed the singer on his continuous USO tours and support.

"For me personally, it's just an opportunity to say thank you, that I support what you guys are doing," he said. "It's just as simple as that. I hope just for a minute that folks can just smile and have a good time. Maybe we give them a little taste of home."

Adkins recently performed at Country Jam 2016 where his set blended country, soul and blues. Songs included the sweet sentiment of “You’re Gonna Miss This” as well as his first single, “There’s a Girl in Texas,” where he noted, “the words of this song mean more to me now than when I wrote it.”

Meanwhile, popular hits “Ladies Love Country Boys,” “I Left Something Turned on at Home” and “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” closed out his show.
