‘Transformers 4′ Will Have New Cast, Might Go to Space
This week director Michael Bay hit up the new ‘Transformers‘ ride and set-up at Universal Studios Hollywood, and took time out to discuss a little movie called ‘Transformers 4.’ So what can we expect from the next installment of the franchise?
Bay spoke with LA Times’ Hero Complex and asserted, ”It’s a new cast. We’ve [sic] moving on to something different.” Bay says he wants to leave the trilogy behind and move on to a new story, with new characters. Someone should tell Shia LaBeouf he can step away from his phone now. He must be so relieved!
When asked about the possibility of taking the giant robots to space, Bay said, “That feels like the way to go, doesn’t it? I want to go a little off but I don’t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That’s what works in these movies, that’s what makes it accessible.”
Right — because ‘Transformers,’ a story about giant robots that can change into other machinery like semi-trucks and sports cars and radios and toasters and stuff are so totally accessible. That kind of stuff is so relatable. We know we get really upset around here whenever our Margaritaville blender goes missing, and then we find it’s become sentient and has started heating burritos in Microtron, our microwave. Robots don’t eat burritos, Jimmy Buffetron!
