Tyler Farr's hit 'Whiskey In My Water' is a love song, plain and simple. In this exclusive video, the singer explains how the song came to be before playing it at the Grand Ole Opry.

"'Whiskey In My Water' was not a song that took months, years, or decades to come up with," he says laughing. "It's simply about a woman." Farr's video is part of an Opry series called 'The Story Behind the Song.'

It's about a woman -- but it's much more than that. The song portrays a woman who he's in love with. Farr explains that he wanted to write a love song, and so he decided to write it from a country guy's perspective.

"As a songwriter or artist, there's only so many ways you can say 'I love you' or 'I think you're beautiful.' My way was to take that from a country boy standpoint and say 'You're the moon in my shine, whiskey in my water.'"

Adds the singer, "Its honestly as simple as that. It honestly just fell out of the sky."

The music video for the song portrays a young couple passionately in love, and while the subject of love and heartache can take a country boy to a vulnerable place, Farr says that it's his duty to fans to shed any hesitations about opening up his heart. "I don't mind putting my heart out there for the audience, and for the country music fans ... to be vulnerable with them ... that's my job as an artist."

Farr concludes, "That's what country music is; it's real songs about what real people do."

The song is the latest single from Farr's 'Redneck Crazy' album. Look for him at the Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter, N.Y. on June 15.
