Pure Country, the movie starring George Strait, premiered nationwide.

John Anderson’s album Seminole Wind was certified gold. The album featured the top 10 hits "Straight Tequila Night" (#1), "Let Go of the Stone" (#7), "When It Comes to You" (#3) and the title track (#2).

 
Garth Brooks No Fences
 
 

Garth Brooks' No Fences is the first country album certified for shipments of more than 5 million copies.

The album contains the singles "The Thunder Rolls" (CMA's 1991 Video of the Year), "Friends in Low Places" (Academy of Country Music's 1990 Single of the Year), "Unanswered Prayers" and "Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House".

The album itself was named Album of the Year by the ACM in 1990.

 

 
eddie rabbitt - Horizon
 
 

Eddie Rabbitt earns the first two gold albums of his career, for Horizon and The Best Of Eddie Rabbitt.

Horizon featured the singles "Drivin' My Life Away", reached number 5 on the Billboard 100 and 9 the Adult Contemporary chart. The other single, "I Love a Rainy Night" reached number one on both charts, the only single in Rabbitt's career to ever do so.

Best of featured only one song new to an Eddie Rabbitt album, "Every Which Way But Loose", which was from the soundtrack for the Clint Eastwood movie of the same name. The song had previously gone to #1 on the country charts.

 
Charlie Rich - There Wont Be Anymore
 
 

Charlie Rich’s album There Won’t Be Anymore was certified gold. The album feature the title track and "I Don't See Me In Your Eyes Anymore" as singles.

The album was recorded in 1966 but not released by RCA records until 1974 as they were attempting to cash in on the success of Rich's multi-platinum Behind Closed Doors album, which was released by RCA and went platinum in 1973.
